Greyfriars Project Management was incorporated by Director Jon Barnard in 2018, after 20 years’ experience in delivering major infrastructure projects across the UK.

Experience: Jon has delivered major projects working for local authorities, design consultancies and civils contractors for over 20 years. He therefore understands the key drivers for all parties. Jon regularly speaks and holds workshops at national conferences and for local authorities, advising about best practice and practical approaches to project management, delivery and planning strategy. Jon specialises in delivering major infrastructure through the Planning Act 2008 Development Consent Order process.

Alan is a highly experienced Civil Engineer and Project Manager, with a vast array of experience spanning over 30 years in the industry. More recently Alan was involved in three of the six A47 corridor improvements, funded by Highways England. The multifaceted role as Senior Project Manager included delivering stakeholder engagement sessions, delivering the schemes to DCO Submission and chairing or involvement in “Buildability meetings“. In addition to this, Alan led on risk registers for the projects to manage known risks. He also ensured that the programmes for the schemes were delivered by Programme Managers and that costs were appropriately managed through weekly production calls. Alan’s experience is vast and he is a well-respected Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers. As a result, Alan is a reviewer for the Institution of Civil Engineers, with over 10 years’ experience in reviewing at Chartered, Incorporated and Technician levels. In addition to reviewing, Alan has delivered sessions at local Norfolk Academies, from lectures on structures to bridge building events.

Experience: Emily completed her undergraduate industrial placement at British Gas, and returned upon graduation. Here, she worked in the Energy Settlements department, eventually becoming Senior Settlements Officer for domestic gas supply, and managing the validation of £1.6bn invoices. Having developed her knowledge of the transporters network code, she represented the organisation at various industry meetings. Since leaving British Gas, she has held a variety of analysis and transformation project based finance roles within a variety of departments in the insurance industry.
Core skills: Development of KPI tracking tools, data analysis, cost management and supplier performance management.
Experience: Matt is a multi-discipline Engineer with over 20 years of design, project management and construction experience across civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering, working in both public and private sectors. Matt works closely with clients and design teams throughout the development of projects to build in constructability and innovation, while ensuring the project objectives are delivered. He has experience working in the Highway, Rail, Renewable Energy and Water sectors. Matt is an Incorporated Engineer and a member of the Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation.

Experience: Steff has a decade of experience leading a range of successful environmental and sustainability initiatives. Her achievements include project managing a multi award-winning sustainable transport and behaviour change project for Suffolk County Council.
Since graduating from University of East Anglia with a first-class honours degree in Environmental Sciences, Steff has also gained professional qualifications in project management, PR, leadership and management. Stephanie is also vice chairman of Suffolk Wildlife Trust’s board of trustees.
