Greyfriars appointed by National Trust to project manage two development projects

Project management specialists Greyfriars are working with leading heritage conservation charity National Trust to deliver two new development projects in Norfolk.

The projects, commissioned by the National Trust, aim to improve their Horsey Windpump and Morston Quay sites. The work involves the design and construction of new building spaces to meet the needs of the team and visitors.

Greyfriars Project Management will take both projects from outline design to construction, subject to planning permission. They are providing complete project management services, including procurement of a full project team and contractor.

“We’re delighted to be working with the National Trust and are looking forward to getting the projects underway. The creation of the new buildings at Horsey and Morston will have such a positive impact” says Jon Barnard, Director of Greyfriars Project Management.

The project at Horsey Windpump – located in the Broads National Park – involves the construction of a flexible and future-proof permanent operations building, complete with a visitor welcome area and office space.

At Morston Quay on the North Norfolk coast, the construction of a new building will relieve issues with toilet capacity, provide extra functionality for staff and improve the flow of people around the site for a better visitor experience.

Both new buildings will be designed and constructed with the environment in mind, ensuring the surrounding areas are respected and carbon impact is minimised.

“We choose to work on projects which have a real public benefit – and these projects are just that. We’re proud to be providing our services to help the National Trust develop these unique sites for their staff and visitors” adds Jon.

The Norwich-based development and infrastructure experts are providing a number of services to successfully deliver the projects, including programme management, risk management, procurement and more.

Due to tight deadlines and budgets, the projects must be delivered as efficiently and economically as possible.

“Keeping these projects on track and on budget is vital. With our experience and expertise, we will manage them to ensure they are completed successfully and to the highest standard for the National Trust and many thousands of future visitors” concludes Jon.

Greyfriars Project Management specialise in providing project management services for development and infrastructure projects of all sizes across the UK.
