Whitecross Masterplan, Falkirk
Whitecross was an old brickworks on a very large site in need of remediation and regeneration. The proposals would deliver 2000 houses, employment areas, with a mixed use central area, along with regeneration works to the existing small village of Whitecross which sits close to the site. A significant gas main runs down between the existing village and the new settlement, and the masterplan recognises this and responds positively by creating a new large park well designed parkland for use by the existing and new communities. The proposals were designed to the highest sustainable principles, in terms of movement, ecology and the environment, and the lifecycle of the buildings.
